Leadership
R.KEITH MURPHY
PRESIDENT / BOARD MEMBER
As the new President of Idaho2Fly, I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, the relationships with our supporters and engaging the community during these challenging times. I have been involved with Idaho2Fly for the past 6 years, working as a Fishing Friend, Volunteer Coordinator, Retreat Facilitator, Board Member and as of April 2021, President. My 40 years of experience; working in High Tech & Telecom, doing Sales, Sales Management, Marketing, Project and Program Management, developed a skill set applicable to working with Idaho2Fly. Retirement will allow me to focus more time and energy with the organization. If I’m not fishing or tying flies, I can be found on my mountain or road bike, or out on the road in our motor home.

I had the great opportunity to be a guest at the 2019 Idaho2Fly Three Rivers Retreat. That retreat not only changed my perspective on my cancer, but it also gave me a great appreciation for the Idaho2Fly organization and the men who volunteer to help other men on their cancer journey. At that point, I knew I wanted to be part of this great organization. As Guest Service Coordinator, I was able interact with the men prior to the retreat, see their struggles and later see how the retreat changed their lives. I am honored to be a part of this organization.
Over the past 45 years I have worked in various positions at a number of dairy manufacturing companies. For the last 20 years I was the Director of Training for an International Dairy Cooperative, facilitating workshops on leadership and sales. Recently retired, I have been able to spend my time working with Idaho2Fly and improving my fly fishing skills.
BOB STARCK
BOARD MEMBER
I’m Bob Starck and I live in Rigby Idaho. I have been fishing since the age of 5 and fly fishing since the age of 16. Fly fishing is my number one passion in life, and I fish as often as I can. Another one of my passions are birds and birding. I am involved with an Annual Breeding Bird Survey that is conducted every June across the entire United States and my survey area is on the Idaho National Laboratory.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Colorado State University and at my core, I’m a Naturalist. I have been married 33 years to a wonderful woman who understands my passion for fly fishing, which lasts 12 months of the year and averages close to 100 days each year.
I retired 15 years ago from the U.S. Department of Energy, where I was an Environmental Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory. After retiring in 2006 I had a brief 3-year career as a fly fishing guide until I was diagnosed with cancer in December of 2009. I have been involved with Idaho2Fly as a fishing friend since 2011. Attending the annual Retreats are always the highlight of the year for me.

Born and raised on the East Coast, I left Cape Cod January 1, 1970 for New Mexico. I finished my education there and then attended graduate school in Oregon. In New Mexico I made custom doors and furniture, was a banker and worked for a large jewelry manufacturing company. 18 years ago my wife Kristi and I moved to Idaho and opened The Chocolate Bar, an artisan chocolate shop in downtown Boise. We sold the business 3 years ago and I am now mostly retired.
My wife Kristi is a cancer survivor and I have been dealing with prostate cancer for many years. I have been a lifelong fly fisherman and have been working with Idaho2fly since 2015.

Board Member
I am David Page, (I go by Dave) and I live in Meridian Idaho.
I moved to Meridian in 1969. I graduated Meridian High School and then graduated Boise State University. I have been married to my long time sweetheart of now 42 years with 2 daughters, and 3 grandchildren, who thankfully all live in Meridian as well.
I have been self-employed and have had a Farmers Insurance Agency for more than 30 years. Still not yet retired! Being self-employed has afforded me the flexibility to enjoy my family, and my favorite hobbies: Fly-fishing, Fly tying and Golf.
I am a two time cancer survivor. I got involved with Idaho2Fly about 4 years ago as a fishing friend and tying flies for the fishing. This was the perfect way for me to give back and pay it forward to guys with cancer, sharing with them, the sport that I love.
Now, newly elected to the Idaho2Fly board, I am proud to be a part of the many decisions that need to be made to move this great organization forward in the future.

I was born & raised in the Boise, Idaho area. I attended St. Mary's grade school, Bishop Kelly High School, and then the University of Idaho (Civil Engineering degree). I was registered and practiced as a Professional Engineer in Idaho, California, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, etc. I was employed by Trus-Joist Corp, Morrison Knudsen, and Hansen-Rice Construction. My work took me to many of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Poland, Saudi Arabia, etc. over a 43 year period. I have been married to my first wife since 1979, have two adult children, and two young grandchildren.
I retired in 2016 after being diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2015. While going through cancer treatments, I saw a flyer about Idaho2Fly helping men with cancer. I attended an Idaho2Fly retreat as a guest (man with cancer) in July of 2018 at which I benefited from the facilitated discussions, fly fishing, and bonding with other men dealing with cancer. I have returned every year to the retreats as a volunteer (Fishing Friend), and as a Volunteer Coordinator. In addition, I volunteer and participate in many of the other Idaho2Fly events to give back to Idaho2Fly and to help men with cancer.
I joined the Idaho2Fly Board in May 2024.
Additionally, I am a volunteer member of Idaho Mountain Search & Rescue, board member of the Morrison Knudsen Nature Center, member of the Bishop Kelly Building Committee, vice- president of the South Boise Water Company, and act as my neighborhood watch chairman.
RAULO FREAR
BOARD MEMBER
I was born and raised in Whittier, California. I attended the University of California, San Francisco, where I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1980. After serving my residence at the University of Michigan I embarked on a 40-year career in pharmacy, directing pharmacy staff in hospitals, prescription benefit management companies, and health plans. My career has taken me to many places in the United States. My wife, Allana, and I moved to Boise in 2009 after our youngest daughter went off to college. About 6 years ago I made a decision to put a bookend to my pharmacy career by becoming a medical director with a major pharmaceutical company, and this past July I retired.
I’ve become an active fly fisherman after having reunited with an old high school friend about 25 years ago. While I might want to spend more time on the water, I’m involved as a Trustee of the Boise Contemporary Theater and enjoy the challenge of training a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy. I am a 27-year survivor of Hodgkin Lymphoma and became involved with Idaho2Fly “as soon as I had the time”, about 5 years ago. Men with cancer have unique challenges in coping with their disease, and I appreciate the unique experience Idaho 2 Fly can provide in support of men with cancer in the state of Idaho.

DAVID LOMBARDI
PAST PRESIDENT /FOUNDER
David Lombardi, Dick Wilson and a group of volunteers organized and incorporated Idaho2Fly in 2013. David served as President from 2013 until 2020 and remains involved and interested in the mission of supporting men with cancer. David works part time practicing law and providing alternative dispute resolution services as a mediator and arbitrator.
DICK WILSON
PAST PROGRAM DIRECTOR / FOUNDER
I was introduced to fly fishing at age 10 by my uncle. He was wonderfully supportive and encouraging. Uncle Bill owned a printing business in New York. He died of leukemia as a result of daily exposure to benzene used to clean ink of hands in the days before the carcinogenic danger was not understood. While I was in college and medical school, other priorities limited fly fishing opportunities. During my 5 years of residency training and 2 years as an Airforce Neurologist my passion for fly fishing exploded. Forty-three years ago, the allure of western life and fishing opportunities prompted me to resign from the Neurology staff at the Mayo Clinic and move to Idaho with my family.
Over 10 years ago, I was persuaded by a friend with cancer to offer a support program for Idaho men with cancer. What a great idea, to combine fly fishing and an opportunity to encourage men to discuss their cancer privately in facilitated meetings, a unique form of group therapy. Idaho2Fly has been immensely successful due to incredibly passionate fly fishers, many of whom are cancer survivors themselves, donating their time and expertise to help men in need. I am blessed to be part of this incredible organization.
